Quito is beautiful. Especially if you live in the old city. Unfortunately, like a lot of cities in the U.S., the residents of Quito run away to newer (and, in my opinion, uglier sections in the North city. This is where the hip restaurants are, as well as travel agencies for visiting the Galapagos. However, in the old city is where the past lives on, the the form of the house of Sucre, of the good samaritan Maria Urrutia and others.
