Neena sends out the link to friends & family. The obligatory statement of purpose.
The purpose of this blog is to document our long voyage traversing the North and South American continents. It is to stay in touch with our friends and family back home in San Francisco, in our ancestral homeland of India, and those we meet along the way. It is to communicate with our future selves.
We have worked long and hard on getting this site up. Neither of us knew much about HTML, CSS, JavaScript or much else related to blogs. It has been an interesting and fulfilling learning experience. Please poke around the site and give us your feedback!
Hi,
So how are you planning to update this site during your travels? I mean technically speaking, how will you get connected to internet?
Bye
Shailesh
We will try to update the blog as often as we can. Currently our target is to post every three days or so while we are on the trip. Internet connectivity will largely govern the frequency – given our experience internet cafes are pretty abundant. We are looking into other means of data connectivity using satellite technology but the data rates are slow and the service is expensive.
As mentioned to you, I would welcome map of your entire itenery, with approximate dates, so that at a galnce we know where & when you can be .
Pappa
Thanks pappa, we’re thinking about this. The main issue is that Google Maps really slows down when there are many points for it to plot.
Shreesh and Neena,
When do you plan to start your voyage? Are your plans finalized? I would like to know your iterinnary in detail. Do you have the names of contacts at different places that you can share with us?
When are you planning to visit us in Minneapolis?
Aai
Hello Aai,
We plan on putting a itinerary of our travel on a separate google map with very broad dates. It is inevitable that the itinerary will keep changing, you can’t plan specific dates for so long. We are collecting some names of contacts in different countries for emergency purposes.
Neena

Your blog looks very good. I make many spelling mistakes inadvertently. Can you add a spelling corrector for “comments” to your blog?
Please drop by before or after Wyoming.
Hello Pappa,
Comments are moderated and you will not see them immediately unless Shreesh or I approve them. This is to prevent against spam.
Hello Daddy,

Once installed, it will check your comments for mistakes.
